Supernatural ficlet: "Death Before Dishonor" rated G

Title: Death Before Dishonor
Author: Misha
Rating: G
Fandom: Supernatural
Spoilers: none
Summary: A vignette based on an idea by auroramama
Length: 288 words
Disclaimer: I don,t own them, I’m just playing with them.
Feedback: Relished at mishamcm@livejournal.com
Copyright (c) December 2008 Misha

There's no way in hell Dean is getting in the middle of this. He just watches them, Dad sitting in that relaxed position and speaking in that calm, steady voice that Dean knows means he's absolutely furious, Sammy in that high-pitched kid's voice full of ten-dollar words. Dean never taught him to speak like a college professor.

Okay, he did teach him the word "ballistics," but only in the practical, here's-how-you-make-a-proper-bullet way. The stuff about trigonometry and parabolas was all beyond him. Just look at his last math test. Sammy knew eighth-grade math better than he did.

"Of course I'm proud of you, Sammy," Dad says in that controlled, deliberately unemotional voice, which kind of undercuts those words. "It's just that it's too conspicuous. No identifying marks."

"Right," Sammy says, and Dean braces for what he knows is coming next. Sammy knows very well you don't bad-mouth the Impala, but that never stops him, even though it always means Dad is going to declare the discussion over, permanently. "Like a fifteen-year-old mint-condition black Impala is inconspicuous. Way to blend in, Dad. You don't think this is too identifiable, you just don't think it's cool."

Sam finds it the summer Dean is gone. It's hidden in a compartment in the weapons locker in the trunk, sealed in plastic inside an oversized manila envelope. In mint condition, just like the car – not a single wrinkle or smudge, not faded or stained.

"My child made the Honor Roll at Kingstown Elementary School."

For an instant, Sam wants to put it on the bumper, but only for an instant. He places it carefully back in the plastic bag that's smudged with numerous fingerprints and packs it away back where he found it.
You can make 3D art for free

I have zero talent for making visual artwork, but I wanted to make some images for my novel, which I'm posting at bloodbayqueen. I've been really amazed at what I can do, and how much I've learned about doing it. And most of what I've done cost no money to do: the software I use is Daz|Studio, which is available free from Daz 3D.

As an example, here's an image created using only free content.

For a full-size hi-res version (over 1MB) click here

Credits:
MAN
Apollo Maximus base, hair, pants: http://www.antonkisieldesigns.com/~akfiles/htmlpages/ApolloMaximusFree3dhumanfigure.htm
Belt by Billy-T http://free.daz3d.com/free_weekly/detail.php?free_id=17
Necklace by Dziubeck http://rapidshare.com/files/51923956/Witch_by_Dziubeck.zip
Goblet and Wine by Deerpath: http://www.rdna3d.com/Halloween/dp_JeweledGoblet.zip

WOMAN
Victoria 3 base by DAZ: http://www.download.com/Poser-DAZStudio-3D-Models-Pack/3000-6677_4-10581779.html?tag=lst-8
Classical Wrap by PhilC: http://www.philc.net/files/freestuff/clasicalWrap01.zip
Eyelashes and eyebrows by PCGaijin:	http://www.sharecg.com/v/19696/poser/Universal-lashes-for-Mil.-figures
Long Hair Evolution by Kozaburo:	http://digitalbabes2.com/dload/LongHair_evo_V1-3_PC.zip
Necklace by ZeusFX http://www.sharecg.com/v/16234/poser/Paua-Shell-jewelry

CHILD
Aiko 3 LE base by DAZ: http://www.download.com/Poser-DAZStudio-3D-Models-Pack/3000-6677_4-10581779.html?tag=lst-8
Forest Elf outfit by Sione: http://www.4shared.com/file/13511294/ac82ec2e/sione-TY2-ForestElf.html
Messy Hair by Kozaburo: http://digitalbabes2.com/dload/Koz_Messy.zip

SETTING
Bed by Lupa Dagidos: http://www.sharecg.com/v/7935/3d-model/Bed-03
Room by Richabri: http://www.mintworks.net/Richabri/FS/Dungeon.zip

HANGING LAMPS
Lamp by Robrose: http://www.robertarose.com/robrose/downloads/Candle%20Lamp.rar
Chain by Mapps: http://webzoom.freewebs.com/mapps/Chests_&_Chains.zip

TABLE
Egyptian Table by Graphics Muse http://www.graphicsmuse.com/stuff/downloads/GM_EgyptianTable.zip
Hairtie -
Just a little ficlet...

Title: CAFÉ Standards
Rating: G
Fandom: Supernatural
Spoilers: none
Summary: "Me and my baby, we got a psychic bond."
Length: 300 words
Disclaimer: I don't own any of them.
Feedback: Relished at mishamcm@livejournal.com
Copyright (c) Dec 2007 Misha

"I'm telling you, Sammie, it's the God's-honest truth."

"Right, Dean. Everyone knows that a major factor in fuel efficiency is the mood of the driver."

"Not just any driver." Dean patted the dashboard. "Me and my baby, we got a psychic bond."

"It's not a baby, it's a car. Look, you're always in a good mood when you've been working on her, right?"

"Still true even when I haven't been under the hood in weeks."

"Like you could go for weeks without fiddling under the hood. It's like third base for you."

"Hey! Don't be crass about the Impala!"

Sam rolled his eyes. "Maybe you drive differently when you're in a good mood."

Amazing the way Dean can glare at you without taking his eyes off the road.

"Okay, fine, you always drive like a maniac. How about this: when a case isn't going well, we hang around town; when we solve it, we hit the highway. City mileage is lower."

"Taken into account."

"Right. How would you even know?"

"Hey, you're not the only one who can do math in his head."

Sam scoffed.

"Okay, but it's not difficult math."

"And in the middle of a life-and-death demon problem, you're thinking about the odometer."

"Thinking about the Impala keeps me calm in a tight spot."

"Oh, is that what you do instead of thinking about baseball scores?"

"One more lewd remark and you're walking." Dean paused and smiled. "Not that I need to do that sort of thing, anyway."

"Shhh!" Sam said, finger to his lips. "Don't want to make the Impala jealous. You're probably thinking about the car when you come, anyway."

"Okay, you're walking."

My Fantasy Novel

I've created a new LJ to post drafts of my fantasy novel, The Blood-Bay Queen. You can find it at bloodbayqueen. I'm hoping to be able to post a scene a day starting in a few weeks. They will be friends-locked and contain adult content, so if you're interested in reading it, leave a comment here stating that you are old enough to read adult material. There will also be some character pics that I've made using DAZ Studio.

Sloppy Research Department, or Consultants Not To Hire

Richard Cullen of SurfControl has been splashed across the news in Australia and elsewhere for his estimate that Facebook could be costing Australian companies $4 billion in lost productivity. I haven't found any links to his actual report, but all the news sources seem to use the same text, so I can only assume they're using the same source.

So how did he do this "research"? Did he compare Facebook and non-Facebook users at work to see how much time they spent on non-productive activities or how many hours they spent at work based on how much social interaction they were able to have online while working? Did he see if the Facebook users took shorter coffee or smoke breaks?

No, he simply pulled some numbers out of his ass and multiplied them together. Yes, he mentions that factors such as "social interaction online makes people happier and therefore they might work longer hours," but does he actual attempt to do any empirical observation or even half-assed guesses in his analysis? No, he just estimates 1 hour per day per company wasted on Facebook times some hourly rate ($25 or $30/hour is my estimate) times 800,000 businesses.

I guess it's a new twist on the old joke: a consultant is someone whom you ask for the time, so he takes your watch, says 'there are numbers here', and keeps the watch.

Special request for NYS residents

Until the latest US Supreme Court decision, it was the job of the school district to prove that children with special needs didn't need the services the family said they did. Now, however, it's the parents' job, and most families with disabled children can't afford to hire a lawyer. Delaying or denying services to disabled children costs far more in the long run than trying to help them early. The NYS Assembly Bill 5396-A will return the law to what it has been for the past 30 years. Please urge Governor Spitzer to sign it. You can contact the Governor at:
http://www.state.ny.us/governor/contact/index.html
or by calling 518-474-8390 or faxing 518-474-1513.
Thank you for helping.

Dispatches from the Sleep Wars

As some of you may know, I suffer from multiple sleep disorders. I was first diagnosed in 1992 by means of a sleep study, in which they paste electrodes all over you and monitor you while you sleep.

Now, thanks to the wonders of the American health-care system, I've had at least 8 or 9 insurance companies since then and dozens of doctors. So when I needed a new mask for my CPAP machine, my current insurance wouldn't cover it. So I needed to pay for it out-of-pocket and then find myself a new pulmonologist to prescribe such things for me.

Since my current CPAP machine is about 10 years old and my last sleep study was at least 6 years ago, he wanted me to have a new sleep study, which I had about 6 weeks ago. Based on that, he wanted to increase my CPAP pressure from 13 to 19. He ordered a new machine for me as they generally need to be replaced every 5 years. It usually takes about a week to get approval from the insurance company, so for the past 4 1/2 weeks I've been calling and calling trying to sort out what the hold up is and who is to blame (the sleep clinic, the durable medical equipment supplier, or the insurance company).

Turns out the insurance company wins. Apparently, the sleep study I had 6 weeks ago was a titration study, in which they figure out what pressure I need, and not a diagnostic study, since I'd already been diagnosed. I've spent the past several weeks trying to locate some entity that has the original diagnostic sleep study report from 1992. As you can imagine, this is no easy task. Just finding out if a particular entity actually HAD the results at some point is difficult enough.

So I finally got my file from Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, the successor to the organization to which my sleep specialist belonged back in 1992. Indeed, the results were there! Just the results, however, not the raw numbers. So now they've got to see if they can dig up the actual report and not just the conclusions.

In the meantime, I get to wander around in a daze much of the time and sleep a couple of hours most days while the kids are in school. If they don't have the report, I probably need to get ANOTHER sleep study just to get the official diagnostic info. The inconvenience of spending a night away from home, no doubt another $370 "co-pay", however long it takes to process the results and work through all the bureaucracy again.

Isn't it wonderful that we have the marvelous efficiency of a private health-care system instead of all that wasteful government bureaucracy?

He headed for the gymnasium. The chin-up bar was set to his usual setting; the others rarely used it, so he was spared the trouble of raising it most of the time. He rubbed his hands together, then reached up and wrapped his hands around the bar.

Four fast clicks as magnetic locks closed on his hands and ankles, trapping him in just enough of a stretch to be uncomfortable. He tried to ask what the hell was going on, but the words he spoke instead were out of his control, and his voice was calm. He felt his mouth draw into an appreciative smile.

"Oh, that's very good, Avon. Did Vila help you with the locks?"

He heard Avon's voice behind him. "I can manage things on my own. This was all your idea, you know."

"Oh, I know it, Avon. My tastes can run to the extreme. I didn't want to corrupt an innocent."

"You didn't seem particularly concerned about it at the time. Or do you consider raping a crew mate in the treasure room just old-fashioned romance?"

Tarrant couldn't believe what he was hearing, but his speech remained beyond his control. "Well, we knew we couldn't keep it a secret for long. Sooner or later the others would find out. How long could it stay a secret between the two of us? For all we knew, Vila had already found out about it. Don't tell me you didn't want it, Avon."

Tarrant could hear Avon's smile in his voice. "Of course I did. And you wanted to distract me with all that treasure so you could surprise me with your special tricks. I made no objection to having sex on a pile of woven gold-filament, nor to being on the bottom. But I wasn't given a choice about the jewel-encrusted manacles, now was I? Nor having my thighs pinned. In case you never noticed, males tend to enjoy thrusting."

"But wasn't it worth it, Avon, for the chance to turn the tables? I saw how your face looked when you got your legs free, when you had me gasping and shuddering."

"I rest my case. You were intent on corrupting me. Now I'm merely trying to meet your exacting standards." Tarrant winced as a whip struck his buttocks.

"Not bad, Avon. Excellent for a beginner. But put some muscle into it. I'm used to much harder than that."

The next blow was across Tarrant's back, and very painful. But as his mind wondered whether the whip had drawn blood, his voice was full of pleasure and approval. "Oh, that's perfect, Avon." Sharp bolts of pain ran through his back as Avon ran his tongue over the wound. Tarrant wanted desperately to go limp, but the locks held him in check.

Avon grabbed Tarrant's hair with his left hand and pulled his head back, then his right hand held a knife against his throat. Slowly, carefully, he nicked the side of his neck, just enough to break the skin and allow a drop of blood to escape. Avon's lips encompassed the wound and he swallowed the drop, sucking so hard it made Tarrant dizzy.

Avon wrapped his arms around Tarrant and fingered his nipples until they were painfully hard. Then he wrapped a rough strap across them and tied it behind Tarrant's back. Tarrant's every movement, every breath, triggered both pain and ecstasy in them.

Suddenly Tarrant felt Avon's fingers sliding into his anus, broadening the walls and coating them with a warm lubricant. Tarrant murmured, "It's about time" as Avon's penis glided inside him. Avon grabbed his hair as he thrust into Tarrant, his warm breath panting on Tarrant's neck.

It felt right. And that made it all the more confusing.

Avon's free hand, still lubricated, grabbed Tarrant's rock-hard cock and pumped it vigorously as Avon's thrusts grew faster and more intense. In what seemed only seconds to Tarrant, he felt his orgasm approaching, and he came just before Avon filled him with his load. Tarrant slumped, and Avon caught him as he released the locks. Avon carried him to a couch and rested him on it. Tarrant rapidly fell into a contented sleep.

*OBSERVATION: MEASUREMENTS OF PHYSICAL DISTRESS COMBINED WITH EMOTIONAL PLEASURE AND CONTENTMENT CONFIRMED. ANALYSIS: RESULTS REMAIN INCONCLUSIVE. HUMAN SUBJECT IS ALSO CONFUSED. CONCLUSION: HUMAN SUBJECT REQUIRES REPEATED EXPOSURE TO STIMULUS IN ORDER TO ORGANIZE COHERENT THOUGHTS ON THE MATTER.*

*SEARCHING DEL TARRANT NEURAL LINK DATABASE … RELEVANT DATA SELECTED. Not to be missed. Food, drink, gifts, a weeks holiday from all public works, masters serving their slaves. An epic celebration of misrule."

"Somehow you don't seem like the type for drunken debauchery."

"When in Rome, dear Rose." The TARDIS shimmered into existence. "And here we are."

She rather liked the way he looked in a toga. "Not Rose, Flavia Gemina, remember. And shouldn't I be wearing a wig or something? I look awfully northern-European."

"Not at all. The Celts were all over the Mediterranean before the Romans. As far east as Ankarra, Turkey."

"It's not the before I'm worried about, it's the during."

"Still plenty of them around. Virgil, Martial, Stilicho, lots of famous Romans of Celtic descent."

"If you say so," Rose said, following him out.

***

"I shall greet them myself," Caligula said. "Who else should address them but a fellow god?"

"Would it not be better for us to capture them and bring them to you, Emperor? In case they are not gods."

"If they are not gods, I will know their falseness."

***

The Emperor was clearly addressing the Doctor. "Ah, Flaccus!"

Rose giggled. "It means 'big ears'," the Doctor whispered.

"You! You shall surely be our King Saturn and preside over the feast."

"Oh, no no no," the Doctor said, even as the guards closed around him.

"Oh, don't be shy," Rose said. "When in Rome, after all."

"You don't understand, Flavia."

"It's like King for a Day, right?"

"A day?" Caligula laughed. "A week!"

"See, even better," Rose said.

"And then they sacrifice me!"

Before Rose could answer the guards were dragging them off in opposite directions.

***

"You must believe me, this is all a mistake!"

"Nonsense. I know my fellow gods when I see them. He is Saturn and you are Diana."

"No, really, we're not!"

"Then you shall prove you are not the Virgin Goddess."

"Virgin? Not hardly."

"Mere words. And do not think you can fool me with illusions."

"Oh, I don't like the sound of this."

"Diana would never allow herself to be despoiled."

"You'd better not be like in the movies," Rose muttered under her breath, shuddering.

"Oh, not I," said Caligula. "If you were not a goddess, I would be sullying myself. With him, King Saturn."

"With him? You see, he's kind of, um, not that way."

"Made unwhole by his son, Jupiter. I knew it."

"No, no, he isn't. You'll see. He's … whole, and he'll despoil me, and that means we're not gods, right?"

"If it is as you say, I will release him from his duties."

***

Being shackled to the bed and gagged in no way prevented the Doctor from exercising his full repertoire of facial expressions. Rose had no difficulty interpreting his exact meaning.

"Oh, don't look at me like this is some secret plan of mine to have sex with you!"

More faces. Rose actually glanced at the guards for a moment, as if they might understand what he was saying about the Emperor.

"I know he is," she whispered, "but what choice do we have? Have you got a better plan?"

Full use of eyes and ears.

"Hey, I told YOU you should have put pockets in the togas. No, we had to be authentic. Well, now we're going to do as the Romans do."

She slid the cloth up to his waist, relieved to see his equipment wasn't weird and alien. If the situation weren't so dire she might have giggled at the stray thought that he might have had two of them.

"You'd just better respond like a human," she murmured as she began to use her best technique. She returned his glare. "Don't you DARE bring up Mickey when my teeth are this close to your private parts."

Fortunately, his cock's response to her fingers and tongue was gratifyingly appropriate. She glared at the guards. They'd better enjoy the show. They'd better not miss the slightest detail.

She moved to straddle him and slid his cock inside her. He felt quite nice, no weird temperature or anything, and just the right stiffness. As she began to move against him she almost forgot where they were. Her orgasm was pretty damned undeniable. So was his.

***

He said nothing as he started up the TARDIS to leave. She smiled as she read from Elizabeth Bowen's A Time In Rome:

Knowledge of Rome must be physical, sweated into the system, worked up into the brain ... When it comes to knowing, the senses are more honest than the intelligence. Nothing is more real than the first wall you lean up against sobbing with exhaustion.
That Tanya is a real tiger." He watched Gunn's hand caress her hip as he led her into the conference room and closed the door.

"Yeah, like you would know. Gunn's smarter than you, better looking, and a better dresser. And even if you were all those things, you wouldn't be Gunn."

"Sounds like you've got the hots for him, too."

"Hey, if I were gay, you know I would."

"And it's not just the black girls. Every girl in the building swoons when he walks by. Half of them are having affairs with him, and the other half wish they were."

"Where does he get the stamina? Hell, you've seen his wife. She's a hottie, too. You know she gets all she can handle of him, too. Man, if I were married to her, I wouldn't have time for anyone else."

"I guess a guy like Gunn needs white meat and dark meat."

"You're a bigger pig than I am. Oh, now he's in for it. The Big Boss is heading for the conference room."

"Yeah, right. I bet Gunn's doing him, too. I bet you two minutes after he walks in Gunn'll be tapping his ass."

"No wonder Gunn never works late."

"Nah, you know he's the top biller in the firm. Never stays late, never takes work home, plays ball with his son all weekend, gets laid every afternoon, and still gets all his work done. It's like he's Superman."

The conference room door opened and Gunn exited, straightened his tie, picked up his briefcase, and headed for the elevator to get home right on time. Tanya and the Boss walked out a few minutes later. Tanya had a big grin on her flushed face and the Boss was walking a little funny.

Gunn arrived home at 5:45 as he always did. His wife gave him a big, enticing kiss. "Welcome home, Charles. Dinner's on the table."

As he prepared to sit down at the table, she added, "Oh, honey, could you run downstairs and get a lightbulb?"
FIC: [Smallville] "Canary in a Coal Mine"

Title: Canary in a Coal Mine
Author: Misha
Rating: R for femslash
Fandom: Smallville
Pairing: Chloe/Black Canary
Summary: Chloe goes on a dangerous mission
Length: 1200 words
Disclaimer: All things Smallville/DC are not mine.
Author’s Note: For medie
Feedback: Relished at mishamcm@livejournal.com
Copyright (c) June 2007 Misha

Chloe had been torn about leaving the Daily Planet. She kind of liked having mysterious super-powered visitors show up late at night when she was working alone, even if it had become a major disruption to her own investigative reporting. But it just wasn't feasible any more, especially since both Clark and Lois joined the Planet. She had to get away.

The job offer at the Gotham Examiner had come at just the right time. It wasn't quite as prestigious as the Planet, but it was the real newspaper of Gotham City, not just a corporate mouthpiece. It was known for serious, hard-hitting investigative journalism, the stuff Chloe could really sink her teeth into. She could deal with being persona non grata. It came with the territory.

She'd been there a year, and she was loving it. She missed the old gang, but at least when they did visit it was to see her, not because they needed something. Still, she sometimes longed for those old adventures. Not that she hadn't had her own investigating some of the seamier sides of Gotham. But that was different. No super-powers involved.

Until tonight.

"Good evening, Ms. Sullivan. Long time no see."

Chloe smiled. "Mr. Queen! Yes, it has been. And just call me Chloe."

"Only if you just call me Oliver."

"Done. What brings a millionaire to the low-rent district?"

"Wish I could say it was a social call, but I'm afraid I need your help."

Chloe grinned. "I'm all yours. What do you need me to do?"

Oliver suddenly looked bashful. "I need you to get kidnapped."

***

Chloe looked dubiously at the outfit and called out to Oliver in the other room. "Fishnet stockings and a bustier? Just what kind of a woman am I impersonating?"

"Hey, that's my girlfriend you're talking about!"

"Oops, sorry. Are you sure this is going to work? If he's already kidnapped the real Black Canary, why would he be interested in a lookalike?"

"Von Brown is obsessed with her. You'll pique his interest. Dinah is the second Black Canary. That outfit and wig belonged to her mother. He'll find out they're authentic and he won't be able to resist."

"How will he know they're authentic?"

"They're radioactive."

"Say what now?"

"It won't hurt you. It's just residual traces. But Von Brown will know it's the real outfit."

"I'd just better not get a rash, Oliver, or you owe me double."

"You're about to be kidnapped by a mad scientist, and you're worried about a rash?"

"You've seen one mad scientist, you've seen them all. But skin cream costs a fortune."

***

Von Brown eyed Chloe appraisingly, his hand stroking his beard. She, in turn, watched Black Canary on the monitor. Dinah's mobility was limited by manacles connected to the wall by six-inch-long chains; the guards must have been warned to stay out of reach of her legs, because they weren't chained. She wasn't gagged, so Oliver was right: they must have used drugs to prevent her from singing.

"She is a remarkable specimen, isn't she?" Von Brown said.

"Wow, she is hot!"

Von Brown smiled at her quizzically. "You think so?"

"Are you kidding? Who wouldn't? I mean, just look at her. I'm straight, but if I had the opportunity, I'd be on her like a shot."

"That would be something to watch. Congratulations, you have your chance."

"What?" Chloe said, finally taking her eyes off the monitor. "I didn't mean … I was just talking."

"I am quite serious. I expect a good show." He waved over a guard.

"She'll crush my skull between her thighs!"

"What a way to go."

***

Chloe stayed far out of reach as the Black Canary eyed her with suspicion. When she caught the scent of the wig, her eyes narrowed. "Where did you get those?" she said, hoarse and barely audible.

"What can I say? Gentlemen prefer blondes."

To Chloe's great relief, the Black Canary appeared to understand the message and relaxed slightly. "Um, if I were to come a little closer, you wouldn't, like, kick my teeth out, would you?"

"Probably not," Dinah said. "No promises."

Chloe eased slowly next to her. "Please forgive me. I'm Von Brown's prisoner, too. He'll kill me if I don't … hell, even the good guys want to see their girlfriends with another woman, right? Envy comes second."

"So I gather."

Chloe sidled closer, running her fingers up Dinah's bare arm and along her collarbone, then down into her cleavage. It was pretty clear Dinah got the hints, but Chloe figured it couldn't hurt to make sure, and with her fingers hidden by Dinah's bustier no one could see her trace out the letters G and A against Dinah's skin. As she leaned in to kiss Dinah's collarbone, Dinah caught her earlobe gently between her teeth, tugging it down. Giving her a good look in her ear.

"See something you like?" Chloe whispered.

"I'd say so."

Chloe brushed her lips against Dinah's, which parted to allow her to kiss her deeply. Dinah had figured it out, her tongue immediately seeking out the tooth with the false cap and working it loose, capturing the hidden capsule as Chloe drew away. As the Black Canary bit into it, Chloe heard a faint hiss and caught a sweet, spicy whiff of marjoram. Chloe wrapped herself around her to quietly breathe, "keep your mouth closed for sixty seconds" into Dinah's ear, nibbling at her earlobe as her hand slid between Dinah's legs, intent on making sure Von Brown was thoroughly distracted by the show while they waited for Oliver's remedy to work.

Chloe was distracted enough by her own rising lust to be a bit startled when Dinah suddenly stopped moaning and pushed her aside. Chloe rolled away to the center of the room as the Black Canary began to sing. Oliver's special ear plugs didn't stop it from hurting like hell and making Chloe feel like her brain was leaking out, but they did allow her to keep control of her limbs and her thought processes enough to duck and cover as the walls began to buckle.

Chloe was vaguely aware of the Black Canary swinging the chains still manacled to her wrists to take out the cameras, as well as any guards who weren't completely incapacitated. Next thing she knew, Dinah and Oliver were helping her to her feet.

"Are you all right, Chloe?" Oliver asked. "When they killed your transmitter I was afraid I wouldn't be able to track you down in time."

"Oh, Chloe and I had everything under control," Dinah said. "Can you stand up? Sorry you had to get the whammy."

"Well, it gave me an idea of what the bad guys were feeling. And they totally deserved it."

"Thanks for rescuing me. Pretty gutsy stuff."

"Green Arrow asked so nicely, I couldn't turn him down."

"I know what you mean," Dinah said, winking at him, before wrapping her arms around Chloe and whispering in her ear. "I've got the discipline of a drill sergeant, but don't let that fool you. You're damned good in bed." She punctuated it with a deep kiss, this one purely for the pleasure.

Wow," Chloe thought, Oliver may get to see a show after all.
